    Kanchanjunga region Trek

    Kanchanjunga Base Camp trek is an ideal trekking route for those with time and desire to venture into some of the remote regions of Nepal. Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world at 8586 meters, and is a magnificent peak striding the border between Nepal and India. Trekking in Kanchenjunga trail begins along the Tamur River through Pipal trees and villages where traditional life is little touched by the modern world. This includes those of the Limbu people,famous for inventing Tongba (the highland concoction made from fermented millet) and as the mainstays in the British Gorkha Regiments. Passing through some of the country’s most pristine oak and rhododendron forests brings you to harsher high terrain. Crossing the Mirgin-La pass at 4725 meters gives you views of Makalu, Chamlang and Everest. Next you will pass the Kanchanjunga glacier, similarly Selele pass 4600m gives you views of Khumbakarna (jannu Himal 7711m, Nyukla Lakchung peak and finally you are rewarded with an incredible, close-up view of Kanchanjunga peak as you approach the Kanchenjunga base camp at Pang Pema 5100m. Whilst exploring the surrounding area you will also see a panorama of Wedge Peak, The Twins, Pyramid Peak and Tent Peak, Nepal Gyabla, white wedge. Ghimmi Gola, Sapru views from Khambachen village and Janak himal range from Lonak and many more…………… At 8,586m, Kanchenjunga is the world’s 3rd highest mountain. Located in the far north eastern corner of Nepal bordering Sikkim, it is considered as one of the most beautiful mountain massifs in the world.

    Kanchenjunga circuit trekking is getting popular these days among nature enthusiasts as it is a long adventure to the most remote and beautiful area of Himalayas in Nepal’s eastern regions. The name Kanchenjunga means five treasures of the great snow which is in reference to the five summits that make up Kanchenjunga. Since, this trekking is less crowded you will be rewarded with a unique insight into Nepali rural lifestyle and its rich culture. You will also experience every climate Nepal has to offer from steamy jungles to jumbled glaciers. Kanchenjunga Circuit Trekking offers it all. Autumn months (September-November) and spring (March-May) are considered as the best seasons for Kanchenjunga Circuit trekking. There is better visibility of the landscape during these months, the rivers are lower and the temperature is cooler on the first few days of the trek.
